Welcome to Hatchell Wood Primary Academy
Thank you for visiting our website. As we plan to further re open the school to more children after the half term break, please could you take some time to read through the school re-opening guide available here and watch this short video, both also available at the bottom of the page, on how to come back into school.
We are setting work on the VLE part of the website so please check in regularly and we also have general home learning support in the Home Learning and Classes tabs above including our increasingly famous bedtime stories in home learning! Please do not feel pressure to teach your children new concepts. If you can keep them engaged, interested and consolidate what they have already been taught, that's great. We will pick up the rest when they get back to school. We understand how difficult it can be with all the other issues you are dealing with right now and we want to make sure that the children's and your mental health and wellbeing are the main focus.
Please let us know what you are doing and post on our twitter page @hatchellwood. We love to see how the children are getting on.
If you need to contact us urgently about your child then please email email@example.com which is being monitored by the senior leaderhip team. School will be open but we will be with the children and so wil not be answering the school phone.
If there is an urgent safeguarding issue please phone social care direct on 01302 737777
We are very aware that this is a difficult time for all of us and are wanting to find as many ways as we can of supporting you.
Childline.org.uk has advice for children if they are feeling anxious or overwhelmed and parents on how they can support.
We also have our own Mental Health page in the Information tab.
Domestic Abuse – If you are concerned about possible domestic abuse, either in your own house or others, there is a range of guidance here Information and support – Domestic Abuse
Please take care and hope to see you soon.
At Hatchell Wood Primary Academy, we aim to provide the highest standards of education for our community. All the staff have high expectations of the children and themselves to ensure that each child becomes a confident, talented learner who achieves their full potential. We want your child’s time here to be memorable because they have had fun and enjoyed new experiences which has sparked their interest so that they want to do their best.
Our aim is to prepare children for the future and for lifelong learning in a diverse and ever changing world with opportunities as well as challenges. The skills they need to achieve this form our Smart Seven Skills.
We encourage the development of values and expectations based on tolerance, respect, perseverance, commitment and courtesy. We emphasise the importance of caring, sharing and learning to work and play together in a secure and happy environment; skills and attitudes which will be vital in later life.
We are a Silver Award Learning Outside the Classroom school and our vision for this is, 'every child should experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of learning and personal development whatever their age, ability and circumstances.'
We believe that parents and carers play a significant role in the education of their children and through close cooperation and communication with you we can enhance and enliven the experiences that your child will have in school. In this way we will, together, bring out the very best in your child.
As part of the Rose Learning Trust we will continue to transform futures collaboratively.
Mr J Harris
